It is my great honour and privilege to welcome you in this ASEAN LHC 3.5 Congress in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. ASEAN Laparoscopic Hepato-biliary-pancreatic Congress (LHC) is a newly formed organization within the South-East-Asia nations, with the objective of promoting minimal invasive surgery in the field of HPB surgery. With this annual congress, we hope to be able to provide the platform for our distinguished experts from ASEAN and around the world to share knowledge and experiences, exchange new ideas, and most importantly, to foster a strong fellowship and friendship, from within and outside the region. With various, widely-diverse, healthcare systems within the ten ASEAN countries, this congress is especially important to provide a unique opportunity for support, encouragement, and bonding within the HPB communities inside ASEAN.
This year, the LHC congress is held in conjunction with our local MyHPB annual congress. With the ongoing uncertainty of covid-19 pandemic, we have decided to host the event online, rather than on-site. This is taking into consideration the borders restriction for international travelers, and the difficulty of compliance with social distancing in a major congress. As such, I would not be able to personably greet and welcome each and every one of our distinguished speakers and all the participants in-person. Instead, I hope to provide an interesting scientific programme, with lectures from many key opinion leaders from the region and around the world. For many, this would be an unique opportunity to learn from the best in the region, and around the world.
Once again, I would like to extend the warmest welcome to both our local and international speakers and participants.
“Selamat Datang ke Malaysia”
Dr Bong Jan Jin
Chair, Organising Committee, ASEAN LHC 3.5
Vice President, ASEAN LHC Council
